Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, is an American singer, rapper, songwriter, and actor from Romeo, Michigan. Inspired by the Beastie Boys, he released his debut album, Grits Sandwiches for Breakfast, in 1990. After establishing himself in Detroit hip-hop, he found mainstream success with a rap rock sound. He later transitioned to country rock and scored a crossover hit with the 2003 duet “Picture” with Sheryl Crow.
